Greenfield Music Festival pOWER wHEELS dERBY

The Rules

  • The event is open to children ages 3-9 in two age groups: ages 3-6 and ages 7-9.
  • All children must be signed in with one parent at Pit Gates.
  • All children must wear DOT-approved safety helmets; bicycle helmets are acceptable.
  • Children must ride inside the vehicle with legs fully inside the compartment.
  • If a child gets out of the power wheel during the event, that child is out of the event.
  • Only regular electric power wheel vehicles are allowed; no 4-wheeler type vehicles.
  • All power wheels (incl. motors) must remain stock with no added reinforcements. However, you may add rubber and/or duct tape to the tread area for traction and durability.
  • One battery of up to 12 volts is allowed.
  • The battery must be securely mounted away from the child (not in the passenger seat) and covered with a rubber mat.
  • All movable doors and tailgates must be secured with duct tape, zip ties, etc. No wood, metal, hard plastics, or sharp edges.
  • Each power wheel may be decorated to look like a derby car, but you cannot reinforce any part of vehicle. Decorations may be made from the following materials: cardboard, tape, paint, and paper.
  • No wood, metal or hard plastics can be used, be mindful of sharp edges.
  • Each power wheel must have a number on side for scoring. Numbers will be secured on a first-come first-served basis, so have a few options in mind when submitting an entry.
  • Each age group will have a time limit to run, and the number of entries will determine heat length and number.
  • Each child will receive 2 pit passes. One parent can be on track to help with direction and safety.
  • All participants must sign Registration and Release Form (see page 2).
  • When you check in on the day of the derby (see festival schedule), your power wheel will be impounded to the track area until time to run. No power wheel will be allowed to drive around Festival.
  • Since vehicles aren’t likely to be taken out like in a traditional derby, winners will be decided by judges' scores based on number of hits, number of dodges, etc. All participants will receive a medal, and the best decorated power wheel will also be awarded.
  • Keep in mind this is for fun.
